Can wolves be homosexual? And I'm asking seriously, because homosexuality is nothing new in animal kingdom. I just read about genderfluid lioness with a mane, and (while it has nothing to execute with homosexuality) I wanted to know how it looks like with wolves. Also, can wolves be genderfluid, like this lioness?
Hi! Displaying homosexual behavior is very common among wolves. Just like most animals, wolves have been observed engaging sexual behavior such as resembling mating behavior with a wolf of the same sex, sometimes even in preference for antonym sex when options were available. Also, male wolves often mount each other, but this is typically in a dominance exhibiting way.
We can’t tell whether or not a wolf is actually aware that there is a distinction between sexual attraction to it’s own sex and that to the other, but we do contact wolves engaging in such behavior homosexual.

So yeah, the point of "they just do it for dominance" and "it's just lonelyness and lack of other-sex partners" doesn't really stand.
And if this is natural (which it is), it's just as relevant to the game as hunting and breeding.
By the way, this game is semi-realistic at best. If you don't want homosexual pairs, make sure to also remove all the alpha/beta/omega titles, herbalists, snakes that give quests and predict fertility/number of pups and etc.
In short, assist for gay pairs, I'd love that!

I used to work as a park ranger during the summers in a provincial park in Ontario, Canada. We kept route of the major packs in the area. We named them out of habit. One pack in specific, had a breeding pair, Clair and Derek. In one of the last summers I worked there, Clair was pregnant, but unfortunately, Derek had gotten very sick and passed away.
