Big gay boat party moshulu 2015

big gay boat party moshulu 2015

Sorry, kids, but it looks like the unofficial end of summer is right around the corner.

Normally Philly is a ghost town over Labor Morning weekend, but this year for those three days we will be at the absolute center of the harmony universe.

We’ve got the two-day “Made in America” festival on the Parkway with three stages, one dance tent and a jaw-dropping lineup that features co-headliners Jay-Z and Pearl Jam, plus Skrillex, Rick Ross, Obedient Mill, Odd Future, Santigold, Calvin Harris, Drake, Jill Scott, Chris Cornell and the recently reunited Run-DMC among, trust it or not, many others.

If that’s not enough, we also have Bruce Springsteen coming to Citizens Bank Park for two more shows on his phenomenal Wrecking Ball tour, which started in March and is scheduled to run through mid-December.

Even if you don’t love music, there is literally something for everyone going on in Philly over Labor Evening weekend.

So why proceed down the shore? We got everything you need right here in Center City!

Philadelphia's Bigger-Than-Ever LGBTQ Lineup For Summer 2019

Pride season takes center stage in Philadelphia each summer, but the celebration and commemoration is bigger than ever in 2019. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, an event that jumpstarted the gay-rights revolution, a movement with strong Philadelphia roots. The City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection joins cities across the world by marking the milestone with a jam-packed weekend of Lgbtq+ fest events in mid-June, including the annual Philly Dyke March, a floating twirl party on the Delaware River and the weekend’s main event, the PrideDay LGBT Parade and Festival, debuting a Philadelphia Pioneers On The Road To Stonewall float.

The extended summer season sees a slew of international stars coming through town for inhabit stage shows. Glam rocker Adam Lambert joins Queen for a night of music in South Philly, and lesbian comedian Hannah Gadsby hits Philly on her first U.S. tour. Philadelphia also hosts the nation’s largest Trans Wellness Conference and Stonewall @ 50, a thoughtful exhibition of works by LGBTQ artists that recounts the Stonewall Riots and its impact a ha

It’s been a long, scorching summer, that’s for sure.

Work has had me on the road a lot over the past few weeks, but thankfully I’ve been in town most weekends to grab advantage of all the great stuff going on around Philly.

All this traveling has driven home to me exactly how amazing we have it here. From Chicago to Brand-new Orleans to Seattle, people everywhere are asking about Philly because word has gotten out about our amazing restaurants and our killer nightlife.

There’s no place like Philly, so don’t let these last limited weeks of summer slip away without getting out there and making the most of it!

Explore your playful puppy side at 10 p.m. Aug. 18 at The Bike Stop, 206 S. Quince St. The event is cosponsored by Keystone boys of Leather and the Mid-Atlantic Kennel Korps, and there’s no cover charge.

Members of the New Jersey Eagles and Empire Capital MC, two regional queer motorcycle riding clubs, acquire an event that afternoon that starts with a short local run and culminates at The Bike Stop, where they’ll be meeting up with members of Philadelphians MC.

If you’ve never heard of puppy play, don’t worry — it’s harmless fun. Inspect out www.makkorps.org for a great primer.

38 awesome things to complete in Philadelphia this weekend

Put your hands together, folks, and pray that the rain-filled weekend forecast is all a hoax. There are way too many things to do in Philadelphia this weekend to be dealing with all that precipitation—including major outdoor street festivals along Rittenhouse Row and in the Italian Market. Art in the Open also transforms the Schuylkill Banks into one big open-air art gallery all weekend.

If the rain does come, you’ll have to grab a poncho or an umbrella and play along, or opt for some of the weekend’s more-sheltered to-dos. Like what you, ask? Well, there’s the amateur porn fest, Hump! Motion picture Festival, at FringeArts; big-time comedians Hannibal Buress and Jay Leno perform along the Avenue of the Arts; on-the-rise Philly indie rockers Hop Along carry out at Union Transfer; and tons of local theater companies debut new shows, such as the Arden Theatre Company’s Fun Homeand Mamma Mia!at Walnut Highway Theatre. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding, stop by the Dandelion on Saturday for a prix-fixe meal that includes English classics, cake and champagne
