Is the Ford 'Very Gay Raptor' Truck Real?
Ford created a truck called the "Very Same-sex attracted Raptor."
The "Very Queer Raptor" is a real truck created by Ford in 2021. The corporation reportedly created the car in response to a social media post that referred to the "Performance Blue" tint option on Ranger Raptors as "very gay." We start no evidence that the truck has ever been free for purchase by consumers.
In May 2023, claims began to spread online that Ford had debuted a new truck called the "Very Gay Raptor," a vehicle painted in gold dust and rainbow graphics. Ranger Raptors are a brand of trucks sold by the company.
We found several other viral posts about the claim on social media platforms, particularly on Twitter and TikTok.

Ford Builds 'Very Gay' Ranger Raptor In Response To Homophobic Comment
Friends, we exist in an age where the world is closer and more connected than ever. Social media bids instantaneous communication with adorable much anyone, but such communication is a double-edged sword. That's a discussion for another place, but we will happily reveal you one automaker's colorful response to discriminatory social media comments. And what an awesome response it is.
Ford's German branch has long supported Christopher Lane Day (CSD) in Cologne, the location of the automaker's headquarters in Germany. Cologne also holds one of the largest CSD events in the state, which is dedicated to celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community. This year, Ford offered a rainbow-adorned Ranger Raptor for the occasion but the Raptor's origin was two-fold. It was also created due to a specific, negative social media commenter that called the Raptor's first color of Performance Sky "very gay." As such, Ford specifically named this pickup the Very Queer Raptor.

At the end of May 2021, Ford promoted its recent Ranger Raptor Special Edition pickup truck in Europe with an action-packed, adrenaline-inducing video that showed the vehicle outpacing a landslide.
About two weeks after the video was released, one YouTube viewer commented that the colour of the truck was ‘very Gay’, suggesting that Ford paint it ‘BlackNGold [sic] or camo’ instead.
In response, on 25 June, Ford tweeted a digital animation of the Raptor decked out with a brand-new rainbow and glittering gold paint job, along with the caption ‘Very Homosexual was a compliment right?’, Happy Pride, and #VeryGayRaptor.
London-based agencies VMLY&R, MakerHouse and Hill+Knowlton Strategies, then worked with Ford to create the Very Gay Raptor pickup in genuine life and take it to the streets of Cologne, Germany, in celebration of Pride Day.
Results / According to the agencies, the campaign reached 22 million people and resulted in 184 million media impressions.

Ford Unveiled a 'Very Gay' Truck in Response to a Homophobic Commenter
While the practice is, luckily, becoming more and more a thing of the past, there are sadly still people out there who will use the word "gay" as a pejorative. That compassionate of casual, everyday homophobia is less socially acceptable than it used to be—in part due to the truth that now people are more inclined to call it out when they see or listen it. And that includes car manufacturer Ford.
The European division of the auto giant recently released a commercial advertising the new extraordinary edition Ford Ranger Raptor, showcasing the vehicle's qualities in a Western-inspired video entitled The Great, the Bad and the Bad-R.S.E. (a slightly clumsy pun which plays on a British pronunciation of "badass"). Response to the ad was largely positive, and the majority of commenters appeared to be impressed with the modern Raptor. One commenter from Germany, however, described the option of blue hue as "very gay."
