Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter, Shiloh, has always stood out within her family — and that’s saying something coming from a star-studded group. From insisting to everyone that she was a boy named John to going viral for her dance moves, the 18-year-old has gone through some stunning transformations worth dissecting.
- Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh insisted her family contact her “John” when she was just a toddler.
- She went through a “tomboy” phase, turning down the opportunity to play Princess Aurora in her mother’s movie Maleficent
- She started taking dance classes at Millennium Dance Complex in LA, and went viral for a few of her performances.
It was first revealed in 2008 that Shiloh requested to be called by her tomboy label at the age of two.
Brad explained to Oprah Winfrey, “She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So it’s a Peter Pan thing. So we’ve got to call her John. ‘Shi, do you want…’ ‘John. I’m John.’ And then I’ll say, ‘John, would you like some orange juice?’ And then she goes, &lsqu
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is entering the virtual dating scene but is keeping her love being out of the spotlight, a cause exclusively tells Life & Style.
“She’s also matchmaking app, but after her seeing her parents’ bitter divorce splattered all over the news, [she] prefers to keep her personal life low-key,” the insider says.
The 16-year-old started the year off on a high record, being spotted on multiple social outings and showing off a brand-new buzz cut. Though she spends time with her siblings — primarily older sister Zahara Jolie-Pitt — Shiloh has been spreading her wings and exploring other interests.
In addition to Shiloh and Zahara, 18, Angie, 47, and Brad, 59, share kids Pax, Maddox, Vivienne and Knox Jolie-Pitt.
It seems that the icon kiddo has been thinking about entering the dating pool, as a separate insider exclusively told Life & Style in February that she was “interested in dating,” but her mom had to “approve” of any potential suitor.
“Shiloh is very outgoing. She’s definitely not a tiny kid anymore,” the insider gushed at the time, adding, “It’s like she grew up overnight.”

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Daughter Shiloh Debuts a Unused Nickname
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh is ready for her next chapter.
Last Thursday, the 19-year-old attended an event to commemorate the release of a joint capsule collection between Isabel Marant and Net-a-Porter. For the soirée, held at Schindler’s Oliver House in Silver Lake, California, the teenager helped choreograph a twirl, which Page Sixlearned was the technique through which she unveiled a unused moniker: “Shi.”
Shi’s number was danced by Tako Suzuki and Keoni Rose, with Luella’s song “Naïve” acting as the musical accompaniment. Accompanying the event, a press release ended up crediting the choreographer as “Shi Jolie,” which seems to be a truncation of her first name, coupled with her mother’s last name.

Shi requested to legally drop her father’s surname in May 2024, with the request being granted in August of that same year. Following the verdict, Shi’s legal label went from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie (and some of her siblings also dropped Pitt’s last name around the same time).

Celebrity couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt raised eyebrows recently when they announced that their daughter, Shiloh Jolie Pitt, preferred to dress and behave “like a boy” – and that they are totally fine with that. Apparently little Shiloh – who is lucky enough to have inherited stunning excellent looks from both sides of her family – is now happier dressing as a boy, and playing with “boys’ toys”, and has asked her family to call her “John.”
But at just eight years of age, is Shiloh old enough to make decisions about gender identity?
First of all, I think it’s really vital to stress that what is at stake here is in no way a “moral” issue. Thankfully, transgender people are gaining greater acceptance, and fewer are being forced to live in a way that doesn’t feel right to them. Moreover, media commentators don’t know Shiloh – we don’t realize what she really cares about, and whether or not she’s transgender. We can assert that a lot of what we think we know about “toys for a boy” or “toys for a girl” is driven by gender stereotyping anyway.
However, this new story does increase some interesting questions. Whatever the case with Shiloh, some kids – both girls and boys – feel from
