Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg's sexuality has become a campaign issue after a radio host questioned if voters would pick a man "kissing his husband on stage".

Mr Buttigieg's Democratic rivals leapt to his defence, and President Donald Trump said he would vote for a gay man.
Mr Limbaugh was last week awarded a top civilian honour by the president.
On his radio show which is nationally syndicated to millions of listeners, Mr Limbaugh on Wednesday imagined Demcorats' deliberations over who to vote for.
He said: "They're saying, 'OK, how's this going to look? Thirty-seven-year-old queer guy kissing his husband on stage, next to Mr Man, Donald Trump.'"
If elected, 38-year-old Mr Buttigieg would be the first openly gay US president. He is the former mayor of South Angle , Indiana, a city of just over 100,000 people.

9-year-old boy asks Pete Buttigieg for counsel on coming out as gay
DENVER -- A 9-year-old lad asked Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg for advice on coming out as gay during a campaign rally in Colorado Saturday.
Buttigieg study Zachary Ro's interrogate out loud and then invited the 9-year-old to unite him on stage as the crowd cheered and chanted "love is love."
"Would you help me telling the society that I'm male lover too? I need to be valiant like you," the question read.
Buttigieg, the first openly queer candidate to acquire presidential primary delegates, commended Ro on his own bravery and told him he struggled with coming out.
"It took me a extended time to inform even my top friend that I was gay, allow alone to proceed out there and tell the society, and to watch you willing to come to terms with who you are in a room full of a thousand people, thousands of people you've never met, that's really something," the South Lean mayor said.
