Will and mike stranger things gay
In a brand-new interview with Variety, Noah Schnapprevealed that one of the most popular “Stranger Things” fan theories circulating the Internet is accurate. His character does, in fact, have romantic feelings for Mike Wheeler(Finn Wolfhard).
“I mean, it’s pretty transparent this season that Will has feelings for Mike,” Schnapp said. “They’ve been intentionally pulling that out over the past rare seasons. Even in Season 1, they hinted at that and slowly, adv grew that storyline. I think for Season 4, it was just me playing this character who loves his best comrade but struggles with knowing if he’ll be recognized or not, and feeling like a mistake and like he doesn’t pertain . Will has always felt like that. All his friends, they all own girlfriends and they all fit into their alternative clubs. Will has never really found anywhere to fit in.

‘Stranger Things’ Luminary Noah Schnapp on Doja Cat, Season 5, and Will’s Sexuality: ‘He Is Gay and He Does Love Mike’ (EXCLUSIVE)
SPOILER ALERT: This story includes discussion of major plot developments in Season 4 of “Stranger Things,” currently streaming on Netflix.
One of the many thrills embedded in “Stranger Things” has been watching each of the young cast literally grow into young adults before our eyes. That is perhaps especially accurate of its youngest first member, Noah Schnapp. His character, Will Byers, has been through it over the years: Abducted into the Upside Down, then possessed by a demonic entity known as the Mind Flayer, and then — perhaps worst of all! — seemingly abandoned by his best friends as they discovered girls and matured beyond their days of playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Will never has, and throughout the recently concluded fourth season, he struggled to articulate to his best friend, Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), why.
From the start, it seemed clear that Will is gay and terrified of coming out. When Variety asked Schnapp and his costar Millie Bobby Brown about it
8 Times Stranger Things Hinted At Will Being Gay (& You Totally Missed It)
Stranger Things fans finally know that Will Byers is gay, but there were signs throughout the series pointing toward this. There has been speculation about Will’s sexuality, and even more so in season 4. While the Duffer Brothers wouldn’t confirm one way or another, Noah Schnapp did affirm “he is homosexual, and he does love Mike” in July 2022 (via Variety). He also said it was a “slow arc” before season 4.
It was indeed a slow arc before Stranger Things season 4. There were things here and there that hinted at Will existence gay, but it was easy to overlook them because they’re kids. Also, there was a lot of more pressing things going on each season. It wasn’t front and center in the way it was in season 4. In addition, Will is in high school in season 4, so it makes instinct that he will be realizing his sexuality more than he was in middle school. Here are eight hints that Stranger Things gave viewers that Will was gay.

Why I no longer believe Mike is bi, but gay (deep-dive analysis)
I think, I’ve been putting this off for a drawn-out time, because I was afraid of the backlash- since so many toxic-milevens send me hate despite the fact I never cross tag. But honestly, I’m so used to it now, it’s honestly become humorous. But, I think the main reason I didn’t want to discuss this was because so many people happily head-cannon Mike as bi/pan. Which is rare in a fandom, since even when a character is confirmed/heavily implied to be bi, people erase their sexuality and pretend they’re gay/lesbian. Which I uncover incredibly problematic, given how common bi-erasure is in real-life. And how it makes it seem love other gay people decline to see themselves in a bi character- so they erase their sexuality instead. But, honestly, as someone who has chief cannoned Mike as bi since s1ep2, it’s tough for me to spot him as anything but gay now! This is because the evidence in s3, re-contextualized everything in the first two seasons. And him being homosexual (rather than bi) explains all of his out of character behavior. So, lets begin. Warning this is going to be long! XD
