Elon Musk: Billionaire's daughter cuts ties with her father
Elon Musk's transgender daughter has applied to legally change her name and gender, saying she no longer wants to "be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form".
The 18-year-old has asked to be recognised as female and have the label Vivian Jenna Wilson.
She was known as Xavier Alexander Musk.
The petition for both a name modify and a fresh birth certificate was filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica.
Her ask for is set out in court documents filed in April, which have only recently come to light.
There was no further detail of the apparent rift between Mr Musk's daughter and her father.
The Tesla and SpaceX entrepreneur has yet to comment.
Mr Musk was married to Vivian's mother, Canadian author Justine Wilson, from 2000 until they divorced in 2008.
Their first son, Nevada, was born in 2002, and died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) at 10 weeks.
The pair went on to have twin sons called Xavier and Griffin and triplet boys - Damian, Kai and Saxon.

In her now-viral post, Wilson detailed how she believes her father’s obsession with masculinityinfluenced her very existence. She wrote:“My assigned sex at birth was a commodity that was bought and paid for. So when I was feminine as a child and then turned out to be transgender, I was going against the product that was sold. That expectation of masculinity that I had to rebel against all my life was a monetary transaction.”
Her words sparked an outpouring of support from followers, with one user commenting:

In June 2021, one of Elon Musk's children, Xavier Alexander Musk, filed a request to change her name in accordance with her new gender culture. She expressed a want to disassociate from her biological father in every possible way. Now, a new assertion by Musk's biographer, Walter Isaacson, in an excerpt from his book titled "Elon Musk," published in The Wall Street Journal, suggests that Musk's daughter informed her aunt about her gender transition but asked her not to her father about it. Since then, Musk adopted a robust anti-"woke" stance as a result of his child's gender transition.
