Boston gay pride block party 2019

What to do this weekend: Boston Pride

Below are about 25 events and parties that will take place this weekend – the final weekend of Boston Celebration. I hope you’ll make the most of the weekend and appreciate the support the LGBTQ community enjoys here in Massachusetts.

We should be proud of the gains the LGBTQ community has made over the past 50 years since Stonewall.  Perform remains to be done, but for this weekend let’s celebrate who we are and who we love.

Boston Pride’s record number of marchers, attendees, and highlights from Pride Week

BOSTON—This year’s 49th Boston Lgbtq+ fest Parade and Festival set new records. The Boston Celebration parade included a record-breaking 431 contingents and over 50,000 marchers who marched along the 2.27-mile route from Copley Square to Municipality Hall Plaza lined with an estimated 1-million spectators. The Pride Festival at City Hall Plaza was filled with activity all time long including 130 vendors, a Family Fun Zone and headline entertainers Todrick Hall, Robin S. and Beth Sacks who drew giant crowds.

One of the highlights of this year’s Pride Procession was the two large flags that will also be appearing in Earth Pride in Recent York City on June 29. The Unity Flag, a patchwork quilt flag that represents intersectionality and unity in the LGBTQ people, and the River of Pride Flag, a quarter-mile prolonged rainbow flag both ended the Self-acceptance Parade.

“This year’s pride was both a celebration and a reflection of this year’s theme—Looking Help, Loving Forward—a recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising and the challenges and victories our group has faced over the years,” said Linda DeMarco,
